Reflecting on the role of AI

Executive decision (1st of April edition) :-)

I have decided not to use Claude. I have tested it thoroughly… and I’ve concluded I strongly prefer the real one. (Me.)

Joke aside, I’m genuinely enjoying how much I’m currently learning about AI especially around designing Copilot agents, and how to make them genuinely useful.

And reflecting on the role of AI was very present for me recently, following an event organised by The Belgium Chapter of ICF Belgium.

What stayed with me most is this idea: if we define ourselves only as human doings, we may indeed be overtaken. But as human beings, with presence, judgment, values, and responsibility, we still bring something unique and irreplaceable.

For me, this is also a helpful lens when thinking about AI. Not in terms of competition, but in terms of choice: how we choose to use these tools in service of better thinking and wiser decisions.

Tools evolve fast.

Who we are and how consciously we act matters even more.
