🌿 Another step: bringing the Inner Development Guide (IDG) into my coaching practice
I🙏 Many thanks already to the three volunteers practice clients – real cases from real sustainability leaders experience with their challenges, small and big achievements and deep questioning. Really inspiring.
✔️ Having just completed Module 2 of my coaching training with AoEC - The Academy of Executive Coaching, one thing keeps becoming clearer: supporting changemakers is not only about helping them find strategies in the systems they navigate, it is also about rediscovering their inner capacities. That is why I have decided to integrate the IDG into my CL4Change coaching model.
📚 Most of you are familiar with the SDGs, but I would guess fewer have heard of the IDG, a framework designed to strengthen the inner skills we all need to drive real, lasting transformation.
🔭 For CL4Change the SDGs is the destination, the IDG one of the navigation guide, the set of inner capacities that help us steer the ship, read the winds, and stay the course when storms arise.
The IDG focus on five key dimensions and 25 skills
🧘♀️ Being – cultivating presence, self-awareness, and purpose
💡 Thinking – expanding perspective and critical reflection
🤝 Relating – developing empathy and authentic connection
🌍 Collaborating – building trust and collective action
⚡ Acting – embodying courage and wise action
In essence, the IDG remind us that outer change depends on inner growth. They provide the human foundation for the systems transformation we are all striving for.
To deepen my understanding of the IDG, I have joined TThe Shift DG community of practice, where our first session took place this week. Exciting conversations and reflections ahead!
